Job Title: Sr. Level Systems Engineer ( 6-8 yrs exp)

Location : Fredericksburg VA or Chevy Chase MD

Duration : 6 months +

Description:
Position requires senior level engineer with ability to architect, design, and develop engineering and systems programming solutions for the automated data center management solution. Required experience includes Microsoft Windows Server engineering, use of Microsoft System Center tools, creation of PowerShell scripts, orchestrations, and software-based workflows to deliver end-to-end services that span platforms, infrastructure components, and environments. Responsibility may also include customization of self-service portals, and solution design for SQL Server data warehouse applications.

Requirements:
• 5+ years systems engineering and systems administration of a Windows-based environment. Expertise with Windows 2008 R2. Must include experience designing, deploying, and maintaining engineering solutions.
• 3+ years: Designing, developing, and supporting monitoring solutions for SQL Server, SharePoint, IIS, and .NET applications using Microsoft System Center Operations Manager. Experience must include authoring of management packs and distributed applications. Also must have experience using AVICode.
• 3+ years: script development using PowerShell or Visual Basic for automation of systems administration.
• Superior problem solving, design, and analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply expert level technical writing and presentation skills to support creation and publication of project artifacts and documentation.
• Proven ability to learn and understand new business systems and detailed business processes.
• Candidate must be self-motivated, work independently, and yet function as an integral part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Skill in translating high-level concepts into tactical action.
• ITIL V3 Foundation and/or MOF V4.0 certification.

Desired:
• 3+ years: design, developing, and testing of process workflows.
• Working knowledge and experience using System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Service Manager, and System Center Virtual Machine Manger.
• Experience with System Center Opalis 6.3 or Orchestrator 2012.
• Experience with SQL Server 2008 R2.
• Experience with Team Foundation Server and Team Build servers.
• Experience in administration of Microsoft platforms and directory services.
• Thorough knowledge of the SDLC and prior experience working within an iterative development lifecycle.
• Expertise deploying Windows Workflows and Sharepoint Workflows.
• Prior use of integrated toolsets to accomplish systems management functions.
• Strong record of results on complex infrastructure engineering projects.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other architectural frameworks.
• Familiarity with systems security and legal & regulatory policies including PCI, PCI 2.0, COBIT, ISO 27001.
