HI,
Senior Unix System Programmer
Location: Seattle, WA.
Duration: 6 + Months and if interested it is for Full time also.
Job Description:
We are looking for 5-6, may be more, people with the following skills - excellent Unix system programming and debugging skills coupled with filesystem/storage/network experience – to be based out of Seattle. These have to be really good, smart, hard-core technical folks. Let me know how soon we can start to see some resumes.
They will augment the existing team and their job will be to:
? Address bugs found in the field
? Provide patches, interim builds, and post-GA maintenance releases to address customer issues
? To develop additional tools and infrastructure to enable product supportability
Qualifications:
? BS or MS in Computer Science or other technical degree is highly desired
? Storage / Systems engineering background with technical fluency around how enterprise systems work and how they are deployed in production as demonstrated by hands-on engineering experience with one or more of the following: (a) networking, (b) storage, (c) file systems.
? Strong Unix / Linux system administration skills. Windows systems administration skills are a plus.
? Systems Programming experience in Python, C / C++
? Experience with network packet capture and analysis along with an understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocols
Important Information:
Please do not start fixating on the ‘Unix/Linux admin skills’ part and possibly ignoring the rest. Yes, they need to have these skills but they also need to have
· the system programming skills (Python, C / C++)
· Experience with network packet capture and analysis along with an understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocols
· Storage / Systems engineering background with technical fluency around how enterprise systems work and how they are deployed in production as demonstrated by hands-on engineering experience with one or more of the following: (a) networking, (b) storage, (c) file systems.
keywords like 'Storage system development', 'C/C++', 'kernel mode', 'File system development', 'developed disk utilities', 'multi threaded', 'device driver', 'system software development', 'scripting for packaging / deployment' etc. The key here is development because most Admin profiles will mention the same storage technologies as a developer profile.
Thanks & Regards...
