Roles and responsibilities:   -

                                 

Skill set:                    

1. Experience with development and frameworks including Django. Any experience with OpenStack Horizon will be definite advantage.
2. Strong familiarity with scripting languages; preference given to Ruby or Python or shell
3. Experience with installation, maintenance, tuning, security and high availability of Linux server infrastructures.
4. Strong familiarity with agile software development lifecycle including source control systems (e.g; Git), ticketing systems (e.g; JIRA, Bugzilla) and managed workflows. 
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively convey messages via presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills, able to nail down tricky problems. Used to isolating things down to network faults, hardware faults, knowledge of performance/tuning within Linux kernel

Software Developer IV - Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Sr. Developer - Parsippany, NJ

 

1 Year contract to start.

Location is Parsippany, NJ

Job Description:

- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database development

- Experience in Implementing data models and database designs

- Experience writing complex T-SQL scripts.

- Experienced with Stored procedure creation/debugging/ optimization/tuning

- Experienced with functions, triggers, Views as well as clustering and T-SQL

- Design and Develop SQL Server Integration packages using SSIS

- Writing and creating data load scripts and stored procedures; ensuring that data is loaded in a timely manner daily

- Working with application developers to assist in database design, query tuning, index assignment, and trigger and procedure creation

- Ability to research and trouble-shoot application problems using SQL programming skills

- Monitoring and troubleshooting SQL jobs, DTS, and integration services

- Ensuring that the integrity of company databases is maintained

- Actively helping our Data Integrity team reconcile data

- Excellent communication skills; works well in a team environment

 

Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

- 5-8+ years Software Development experience

- 5-8+ years Professional experience using Microsoft SQL Server database development (2000/2005/2008)

- 3-5+ years Designing and developing applications on Oracle RDBMS

- 5+ years of experience in complex stored procedure creation and using performance tuning techniques

- 4+ years of experience in creating and maintaining SQL code for medium to large OLTP applications
