Role: Project Manager
Location: West Des Moines, IA
Duration: 6+Month's

Description
PURPOSE:
* Manages to successful completion, any projects or sub-projects as assigned within the department.
* Manages the definition, development, and delivery of information technology business projects, which meet the requirements, costs, and schedules as approved in the project plan. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Develops, oversees and measures the projects work effort on the following dimensions: 
o scope 
o quality 
o time 
o cost 
o resources 
o communication 
o risk o hardware/software needso integration

* Leads the project by: 
o requesting resources based on the project?s needso managing the work activities of the projects resources
o following sound project methodologies/ company policies 
o implementing the resulting solution to the satisfaction of the client(s).
* Utilizes the CLIENT designated work environment tools, including IT, HR, Time Entry and other CLIENT systems. 
* Develops a project plan an a communication plan for each project, which involves the client and impacted departments. Keeps appropriate parties informed of the projects progress and problems.
* Presents to senior management the status of the project, expected outcomes, and project risks. 
* Monitors the status of specific sub-projects related to the overall project incorporating that into the overall plan.
* Creates and/or modifies project reports using the CLIENT USA reporting tools.
* Creates project performance metrics related to expected outcomes.
* Follows and adheres to company defined IT standards and procedures.
* Mentors and coaches less experienced Project Managers. 

CONTEXT: 
* Leads projects of significant scope and importance, as to have impact on the operational back office success of the company.

* Department heads (clients)
* Department staff (clients)
* Project staff/members
* Vendors

* Project managed successfully to completion.
* Project meets defined targets, goals, timelines and budget.
* Sense of accomplishment/ satisfaction by Team Members.
* Project communication is successful and thorough. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* PMP certificate is preferred. 

EXPERIENCE:
* Five (5+) or more years of progressively responsible project management experience.
* Experience in the life insurance industry or information technology is preferred.
* Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
* Experience using Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

* Design and development of the project plan.

* Development f project communication plan.
* Performance metrics and the reporting thereof.
