Position: Infrastructure Test Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 6+ Months 

Primary Skill(Old):	Information Architecture

Proficiency Level	Expert (5+ Years Experience)

 

Find bugs, defects, and regressions.  Design, implement, execute and debug information technology test cases and scripts.  Validate and document completion of testing and development.  Automate test cases.  Verify fixes. 7 years of experience are required. 

 

• Install configure test Conical Ubuntu or Kbuntu or Obuntu on "blade" or "rack" servers 
• Testing of following OS: Debian, Windows W2K8/WS2012, VMware ESX, RHEL 5/6 
  Package Manager experience for RHEL/DEBIAN/UBUNTU 
• Manual test U, K or O Buntu against Storage and Network verification 
  iSCSI  FC/FCOE Storage array: EMC {VNX,VMAX}, NETAPP 
• Perl, Python or Shell scripting 
• Experience in physical lab and hardware setup.."Blade Servers" 
• Experience setting up an maintaining test environment

 

Job Level Specific Duties

. Works as a consulting team member or an individual technical consultant in the development of technical solutions of moderate complexity within consulting practice area. 
. Operates under general supervision in developing solutions and strategies based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing infrastructure and applies principles, concepts and techniques of skills in developing solutions and strategies.
. Expertise and work efforts focus on providing solutions involving single products or single platform.
. Provides direction, coaching and mentoring to less experienced project team members.
. Responsible for the project management of small projects or pieces of larger projects, including the design of the project plan.
. Regularly interacts with external customer and customer managers and identifies additional opportunities in customer organization.
. Begins to integrate multiple technologies and applications within a specific customer solution.
. Serves as a pre-sales support specialist through the development of materials and by presenting solutions to prospective clients as a subject matter expert.

Typical Years of Experience

. Typically requires 4-6 years relevant experience.

Minimum Education and Certifications

. Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Skills

. Solid knowledge of infrastructure solutions (in specific areas related to data center optimization, cloud hosting, disaster recovery and backup, IT security, and/or IT operations), project management and system architecture. 
. Solid analytical / problem solving skills.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

. Ability to physically perform general office requirements. 
. Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
. Significant travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required.
