Senior Sybase/MS-SQL DBA

 

Position responsibilities:

Need a senior Sybase database Administrator with additional skills in either MS-SQL or Oracle.

Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design,. maintenance & monitoring .

Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery. Executes database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads.

 

Required Skills :

Database Platforms Sybase Primary & secondary skills in MS SQLServer or Oracle Operating Systems needed: Sun Solaris/Linux/Windows

 

7+ years experience as a DBA supporting Sybase 12.x and 15, Replication

7+ Server, Microsoft SQLServer 2000/2005/2008. Experience in SSIS, SSAS

7+ ,OLAP, Cubes preferred

Administration tools like Enterprise Manager, DBartisan Setting up log shipping, Mirroring/log forwarding, analyzing traces SQL Performance Tuning skills.

Stored Procedures, Triggers, Packages experience a must.

Experience in database design and some logical modeling knowledge

 

One of the below is beneficial as a secondary skill :

A. 3+ years experience as a DBA supporting Sybase 12.5/15.

OR

B. 3+ years years experience as a DBA designing & supporting Oracle 10g/11g/RAC databases in a large-scale (100+ servers) in a UNIX, Linux environment.

C. Experience on RAC/RMAN/Backup Recovery
