Position: Technical Architect C++

Location: Beverly Hills, California, USA

Duration:- Long Term

Experience: 10+ years

 

a.       Key Role and Skill Sets:

a.       Lead an onsite, offshore medium to large sized teams using an agile methodology for Trading Domain client. This is primarily a customer-facing onsite assignment.

b.      Primary Technical Skillsets:  Extensive C++ application coding, designing experience on LINUX, UNIX envt preferably

c.       Secondary Technical Skillsets:  Java / J2EE-based enterprise-scale web applications development experience with an Oracle, SQL back-end.

d.      Soft Skills: Excellent spoken and written communication skills, relationship building, negotiation and persuasion skills

 

Job Description:

 

1.       Should be able to work with the Client Technical Head, Product / Project Management team and other stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding of customer business needs & challenges, and then define, develop and implement solutions that meet those needs.

2.       Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, design sessions to architect the right solutions

3.       Lead the team through the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, rollout and maintenance of complex Java-based and C++applications.

4.       Set and maintain high quality standards for deliverables including the development of unit tests where applicable.

5.       Working with the team, quickly resolve critical time-sensitive technical issues.

6.       Ensure the implementation of software systems follows established engineering best practices and guidelines.

7.       Provide accurate time estimates for software development projects and tasks.

8.       Participate in creating a whole team concept and delivering working code at the end of a sprint.

9.       Ability to manage key client stakeholders, keep them proactively updated about project, program status, issues, risks and able to seek support to reach the set goals

REQUIREMENTS

1.       BA/BS in Technology area (i.e. Computer Science) or related field or equivalent work related experience

2.       10 years and above experience in software development with progressive increases in leadership roles/ responsibilities. Highly technical given that the role be technically demanding.

3.       Minimum 6 years and above experience in the architecture and development of component based complex applications using C++ language in a Linux, Unix envt

4.       Extensive hands on experience of SQL Server, Oracle back end

5.       Extensive experience in requirements analysis, design, estimation of large, complex applications using different estimation techniques like FP, Use Case etc

6.       Experience in agile methodologies particularly Scrum and using full lifecycle tooling to track work items and issues.

7.       Prefer experience with one or more web development tools including JQuery, JavaScript and HTML.

8.       Strong leadership skills

9.       Object oriented design and development experience a must.

10.   Demonstrated track record of successful product delivery within budget, schedule, scope and quality.

11.   Experience working with cross-functional teams including business analysts and quality engineers.

12.   Strong analytical and team-based problem solving skills.

13.   Financial industry and within that Trading domain experience highly preferable

14.   Knowledge of Delphi applications development is also good to have
