Environment : Strong web application development skills that loves challenging design/coding projects. The team uses an Agile approach to software development with a strong emphasis on Test Driven Development and Pair Programming

 

Role: You will be key in implementing the look and feel for the next generation of software that will deliver a wide range of content. It will offer the opportunity to design, code and enhance the interface across a variety of platform and functional software services and frameworks to drive a highly scalable, next generation, feature rich, digital learning and e-publishing solution for the academic market. This position currently reports directly to the User Experience Design Manager.

 

Front End Development

Build full-featured modern web interfaces using the latest standards for HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript.

Work with back end developers to integrate code with front end frameworks and implement visual designs.

Work with UX designers to maintain visual standards and designs in the product.

Using Javascript libraries such as jQuery and JMVC create cutting edge interactions and optimize existing code.

 

User Experience Design

Working with UX team help to design best of breed User Experience flows and wireframes.

Participate in reviews of designs to help improve overall usability

Create functional prototypes that display highly innovative, engaging, and user centered designs

Stay current with cutting edge techniques and technology for interface design and development

 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, interface design or related field.

4+ years direct experience  (understanding of usability, user-centered design, accessibility and web standards).

Expert skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Extensive experience using Javascript libraries such as jQuery.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
