Skill and Role Summary:
As a WebSphereCommerce(WC) build, deploy & infrastructure specialist, you will own the deployment of the JEE components and the WC application into various target environments. You will leverage existing client build and deploy processes to define, configure and deploy the new extended sites application. In this role, you will also drive coordination with various client internal groups (networking, firewall, etc…) to troubleshoot and resolve all aspects of environment setup for development, QA and eventually production systems. You will have expert familiarity configuring WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and IBM HttpServer (IHS) along with strong knowledge of typical Enterprise application resources (e.g. Queues, Connection Pools).
Main duties and responsibilities:
Support development team with developer workstation setup and troubleshooting
Extend existing build/deploy processes to support extended sites deployment requirements
Lead/Own the co-ordination of troubleshooting environment related issues with various internal groups
Create/Update build & deploy documentation to support new extended sites application
Lead/Own the co-ordination for production readiness from an application infrastructure perspective
Requirements:
Must have strong client facing experience
Must be a self-starter who can manage own time and clearly articulate status on a frequent basis
Must have strong communication skills
Must accommodate working with and guiding onshore/offshore development team with troubleshooting and environment setup activities
Must have strong infrastructure planning experience
Must have expert configuration knowledge of WebSphere Application Server (WAS 7)
Must have strong working knowledge of WebSphere Commerce 7 (WCS7) build and deployment best practices
Must have strong working knowledge of troubleshooting networking, firewall and other environment related issues
Should have at least 3 years experience with WCS
Should have at least 3 years experience with WAS
Should have at least 1 year experience with IHS
Nice to have been a part of at least 1 WCS extended sites project
