Metadata Administrator

Designation:    Metadata Administrator

Location:         Jacksonville, FL

Duration:         6 Months

 

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for administrating metadata tool functions and procedures, working with technical and business partners to develop common understanding and effective uses of metadata. 

Collaborates with IT and the business teams to develop, implement and support effective guidelines for technical and business metadata. 

Support system development projects with loading metadata assets to the repository, and provide metadata change management support.

 

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

·         ASG-Rochade metadata repository administration, ASG-Becubic administration, meta-Glossary administration (User setup, subject areas, troubleshooting and scanners)

·         Provide technical support to metadata users and server as "Go-To" technical SME

·         Interaction with vendor to open and resolve tickets / issues

·         Enable integration of applications and metadata sources with ASG-Rochade and ASG-Becubic metadata solution

·         Create and maintain visualizations of metadata and technical data lineage

·         Enable traceability and impact analysis across key systems

·         Define and develop workflows to ensure appropriate Data Governance

·         Advocate for Data Management principles and capabilities within the organization

·         Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

-          Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required

-          3 or more years of experience required in database, metadata and data management, application development , good communication skills, supporting business and technical users, excellent customer service

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications:

-          Associates degree from an accredited institution required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related major field of study

-          5 or more years of experience required in database, metadata and data management, application development , good communication skills, supporting business and technical users, excellent customer service

Knowledge and Skills:

-          Strong advocate for data and metadata management principles

-          Strong knowledge of computer programming languages and code. Proven experience in developing functional applications and systems of medium to high technical complexity

-          Windows administration experience (scheduled task maintenance, log maintenance)

-          Microsoft Office Skills

-          Excellent oral and written communication skills

-          Excellent Customer service skills

-          Time management and organizational planning skills

-          Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities; Troubleshoot issues

-          Ability to collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and milestones

-          Java development experience

-          Strong practical experience with harvesting Data Lineage and Metadata
