Java/J2EE developer

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 6+ month

They development Online learning software.

This Hiring process is a Phone screen first followed by an In-Person interview (Do not send me any candidates that will not show up in person) this expense is not covered by the client

Experience with MVC patterns is preferred

Experience Spring Framework and/or Hibernate is needed

Oracle Database experience is required.

RESTful web services (is a major plus)

Everything else is a nice to have.

Key Responsibilities:

Works closely with other Software Engineers to design and implement web services solutions to large, complex business problems in the areas of ecommerce, online identity management, access rights management, and course/enrollment management.
Delivers solutions on Java and Python platforms, using open standards, and third party tools and frameworks to deliver high quality, robust and maintainable products.
Ensures that code adheres to strict standards for accessibility, security, object-oriented practices and performance.
Applies Agile practices for successful, sustainable delivery of software solutions.
Produces quality design and development work in a timely manner.
Works with Business Analysts, Project Managers and Product Managers to ensure solutions meet product requirements.
Conducts unit testing, acceptance testing and integration testing. Collaborates with Software Quality Engineers on QA initiatives.

Qualifications

4-6 years of experience in enterprise-scale and / or internet-scale development, with Java and J2EE.
Proven experience with web application and client side development, including working knowledge of MVC patterns.
Very strong skills and hands-on experience in data modeling and object oriented design principles.
Working experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate is required.
Experience with RESTful services (design, tooling, testing) is required.
Experience with SOAP-based services (standards, design, tooling, and testing) is desired.
Familiarity with identity management solutions (such as Shibboleth, CAS, SAML, OpenID) is a plus.
Working experience with Python and Django is a plus.
Experience working with relational databases (specifically Oracle) is required.
Experience working with nosql databases (specifically mongodb) is a plus.
Reasonable knowledge of Linux platform.
Experience with integration frameworks (ESB, BPEL, JMS) is a plus.
Experience with Agile practices and processes is a plus.
