Unix Systems Administrator

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 6 months

 

 

Description:

This position is for an experienced UNIX systems administrator. We are looking for a person with Linux/RHEL experience preferably 5 years or more with hands on experience of building and supporting Linux servers. We would also prefer that the candidate has some experience with vmWare and/or the conceptual foundation of building virtual servers. The person will need to be able to work fast and manage multiple projects

Responsibilities:

• Introduces and integrates new technologies into existing system environments.
• Manages user accounts.
• Performs performance tuning of systems.
• Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues with computer systems.
• Troubleshoots any reported problems.
• Performs routine audits of systems and software.
• Performs backups of application and data.
• Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. Installs and configure new hardware and software.

 

Qualifications:

• Experienced UNIX systems administrator.
• We are looking for a person with Linux/RHEL experience preferably 5 years or more with hands on experience of building and supporting Linux servers.
• Experience with vmWare and/or the conceptual foundation of building virtual servers is a plus.
• The person will need to be able to work fast and manage multiple projects

           Satellite server knowledge
