UI Developer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: : 6 month (+) contract

Must work onsite

Interview – phone followed on in-person

 

High Level UI Consultant – if they have Sencha Extjs or Sencha Touch that is a huge added bonus

 

Brief Description

This individual will be leading the design and development for a large internet website/product, working with complex requirements in a fast-paced agile environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Interface with internal customers to elaborate on requirements and provide recommendations on complex technical tasks.
• Independently perform analysis to develop and implement high level architecture and framework designs for the assigned project.
• Diagnose complex system problems and system performance problems using available standard performance tools and system indicators such as queue lengths.
• Participate in design, code and test reviews.
• Analyze and troubleshoot software problems.
• Participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.
• Make recommendations on the impact and implementation of new technologies/development methodologies.
• Work closely with Business Analysis and Project Management to ensure correct technical design.
• Establish and enforce coding standards and technical documentation requirements.
• Provide guidance/training/mentoring to development staff.

Skills and Requirements

Must Have Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience creating web applications using JavaScript , Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlets, HTML, CSS.
• Working knowledge of Ajax (preferably using jQuery and JSON), SQL, XML, MVC frameworks (preferably Spring), dependency injection, Hibernate, jUnit, and IBM RAD/Eclipse.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior customer service skills (for internal customers).
• Ability to take complete ownership of development requirements and meet delivery dates.
• Technical team-lead experience.
• Must have a very good understanding of Object-Oriented Design.
• Competent working with both Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience working on medium and large-scale applications.
• Experience using and creating RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
• Agile development process experience.

Preferred Additional Requirements:
• Experience with ePublishing, financial, content management, and eCommerce systems.
• Experience with smart search based on tagged content, including faceted search.
• Experience working on medical and healthcare related websites.
