The Citrix System Engineers role is focused on deployment and upgrading a multi-data center Citrix Platform supporting 2000 to 5000 Citrix desktops. The Citrix System Engineer is responsible for providing trouble-shooting procedures and assistant upon escalation of problems, and is to perform root cause analysis when necessary. The individual will be responsible for analysis of performance metrics and capacity planning for the Citrix Platform and will be able to articulate to management the requirements to maintain high performing platform and service in the field.
The following activities are typical for this role:
Oversee the application of patches and upgrades to the platforms.
Develop test plans and tracking of test results.
Analyze statistical data and pursue performance improvement opportunities
Ensure appropriate routing and communications exist amongst the various component of the Citrix Platform, including Application, Provisioning, Netscalers, Branch Repeaters and WanScaler services..
Proactively monitor the health and performance of the Citrix environment and it's dependencies in order to maintain optimal performance and to predict a possible or imminent failure and take corrective actions when necessary.
Address tickets escalated by the System Administration Team and ensure accurate resolution to problems.
Maintain key metrics regarding the performance of the Citrix Infrastructure and Services..
