Title: ASG Engineer

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 6 Months

 

Responsibilities:

·         Is responsible for all aspects of application monitoring and support that are specific to MISM applications.

·         Serves as a point of escalation for end-user support staff as well as a liaison to other technical groups such as application developers and infrastructure teams

·         Provides day-to-day problem resolution, application monitoring and ready for business checks.

·         Provides support for third party applications used in the environment

·         Develops and implements automated solutions to improve the above activities

·         Is responsible for authoring and maintaining detailed technical documentation on the above activities

·         Oversees and accepts escalations from a pool of level-1 support personnel at an offshore provider.  The solutions that the ASG Engineer develops are often used day-to-day by the level-1 pool.

·         Understanding  Networking Technology

 

Skills Required:

·         Minimum of three year’s experience with Microsoft desktop and server environments: Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP

·         Minimum of three year’s experience with UNIX/LINUX environments

·         Experience in shell scripting, PERL/CGI programming, HTML

·         Experience in Visual Basic for Windows environment scripting

·         Intermediate knowledge of SQL and an ability to write simple database queries

 

Preferred:

·         IBM mainframe environments

·         NetCool and Mercury SiteScope monitoring tools

 

Advanced Experience/Knowledge in these areas will set candidates apart:

·         Visual Basic

·         HTML, PERL/CGI and UNIX shell scripting

·         Database technologies: Sybase, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and generic SQL
