This is hot, Communication skills is a major decider on a candidate being selected along with knowledge depth
I have additional details on this role from the hiring mana
They need proven experience with the following
Data Design
Table Design
When submitting please tell me years candidate has worked with SQL Server 2008??
Please note: when qualifying your candidate, They need to be on the programming/Development side. Client is NOT looking for a report developer- Please make sure to clarify this when qualifying the candidate
Also please make sure to discuss the candidates individual experience in the below listed skills, candidates that were recently declined came across that they did the below as a team or that the team did the task v.s. the candidate being fully immersed i.e. Sometimes it comes across as the team they worked did some of the tasks but the candidate may not have.
In terms of the specific areas we need to focus on, I would prioritize the list of must have skills from Richard Gower as;
1. SQL Server 2008 Stored procedure coding/testing
2. SQL Server 2008 SSIS coding/testing
3. Data/table design
4. Knowledge of DTS is helpful
I would also add that communication skills are key since this position is remote. (Remote here means that the company has their head office in Florida while the candidate has to work out of San Antonio, TX office)
SQL Dev. Role
Contract is up to 6 months
We need this SQL Programmer for a 4 - 6 month engagement.
SQL programmer - they will need to be able to code Stored Procedures using T-SQL, should have knowledge of SSIS.
This will be on SQL 2008.
They will be given specs to code against.
They would be working with a person here in San Antonio - hence advantage if they are in this area.
looking for more of a programmer than an architect type.
