IPCS Req: AIX - SAN Administrator @ NC

Hi,

 

We have an urgent requirement with our direct client for experienced AIX –SAN Administrators.

 

Contract Positions: AIX –SAN ADMIN

Location: Raleigh, NC

Duration: 6+ months

Start Date: Mid Feb. 2012

 

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work across the department directly with the database, SAN, network, and security teams supporting web and enterprise class applications and must possess the ability to assess system operational performance and develop solutions for improvement as necessary.

Responsibilities will include:
• Operating Systems & Applications on IBM P-series using VIO & IBM blades with physical & VM configurations
• Providing technical support, installation, configuration, and administration of AIX versions 5.x - 6.x, Red Hat, Websphere 6.x, Tivoli Storage Manager, and ESB, Iplan
• Supporting SLES 11 and VMware
• Analyzing and identifying problems and providing solutions
• Configuration of HBAs for SAN support, and modifications/utilization of Nagios

 

Skills / Experience Required

Experience With:

• IBM P series servers Power 5, 6, and 7 with VIO
• Aix v 5.X, 6.X supporting LPARS, Linux Red Hat & SLES 11
• Websphere v 6.X, 7.X, ESB and Iplanet
• Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and Nagios or (similar monitoring tool)
• VMware
• HBA/SAN configurations for SAN (Network Appliance and EMC)
• System implementation and administration on any enterprise-level COTS software
• Load balancing, HA, and clustering technologies
• Performance tuning
• Perl and Unix shell scripting
• Nortel and Cisco network components
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

Preferred:
• Experience with PowerHA,
• Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, NFS, DNS; Backup/Recovery and Cisco
• Firewalls;IBM Power 5 & 7 series systems
