Project Manager

Location: Kansas City, KS

Duration: 6+ Months

Rate: $60/hr on C2C

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the entire project team. The PM must work with the Project Team, BAU, business Systems Automation Unit Manager(s), Benefits Section Manager, Assurance Section Manager, external agency staff, Subject Matter Experts (SME), Applications Development Supervisor, development lead, testing supervisor and Training Coordinators. The team will be responsible for planning, requirement gathering, design, development, testing and implementation of the changes required for the conversion to the new system. The PM will supply regular progress reports to the project director and is responsible for all reporting requirements associated with the project.

• Strong project management leadership and mentoring skills
• Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with challenging people and situations
• Ability to create and maintain the project work plans in MS Project 2007 or newer
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly learn new business and technical processes
• Proven ability to self-direct and desire to problem solve and participate in process improvement
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with the business and IT community
• Presentation skills both in delivering presentations and in creating presentations using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, etc.
• Ability to facilitate a group to come to a consensus.
• Strong ability to create accurate estimates for the work to be completed including staffing recommendations
• A strong ability with a background that demonstrates the ability to create, update and accurately monitor work plans based on estimates, timelines and completion rates
• Ability to build and maintain strong and cooperative team cohesiveness between contractors and State staff
• A strong background with experience and high level of skill in project management methodology
• Knowledge of business process redesign
• State Social Services Experience Desirable.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project, SharePoint
IBM Clear Quest , Rational Requisite Pro (preferred)
