We talked about the potential for a need for a performance engineer last week, but I didn't realize it would be so quick. One of our contractor performance engineer has given his notice and will be leaving the end of next week. Therefore, I am looking for someone to replace him. A quick high level on the responsibilities are:
- Consult with BAs to develop non-functional performance requirements for business functionality. Collaboratively work with architects & developers to design and deliver functionality which meets the tps, response time, and scalability needs
- Ability to analyze java code, database design, and/or infrastructure to identify optimization opportunities
- Ability to design, program, and execute performance tests
- Attendance at weekly evening calls with the global team to review project progress and status
This requires someone who can speak with architects at a high level, but also able to drill down and diagnose specific performance issues.
