We are in need of Infrastructure Project Manager at Los Angeles (North Hollywood), CA
Length: 6 months
Role Summary
The Technical Infrastructure Project Manager will oversee a portfolio of projects concurrently from conception through production release. This role will be responsible for planning, tracking, coordinating and communicating on projects involving cross-functional teams. In addition, this role will also work closely with the technology and governance teams to ensure releases and projects are being prioritized and managed properly within the IT Governance Framework.
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure that all assigned project requests are executed on-time, on-budget and built first time right.
Learn, comply, and effectively utilize established project management methodology (120VC Project Management toolkit)
Learn and adhere to internal project governance processes and tool sets
Manage assigned projects according to the 120VC toolkit
Participate in a weekly Project Review for assigned projects
Maintain at least a 95% Project Review average
Prepares a Daily Status Report (DSR) summarizing their accomplishments for that day and their priorities for the next day
Effectively lead project teams and customer executives (not a note taker)
Develop/foster relationships with project team members and external partners
INITIATE:
Closely collaborates with the Project Owner(s) to gather project requirements and to determine duration of Planning
Conducts facilitated sessions with the Project Owners(s) and executive stakeholders and then with Contributors and Functional Managers to define the project, assemble the matrixed project team/project resources and develop the Charter
PLAN:
Develops project work plans, roles matrix and communication plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
EXECUTE:
Direct and manage project execution
MONITOR/CONTROL:
Develop solutions to project issues and effectively communicate solutions to the Program Manager, account manager and stakeholders
Identifies and logs any issues and establishes a Risk Assessment for any issue causing the projects health to decline
Schedules and conducts meetings as needed, noting agreements, issues, and task assignments. Prepares and publishes minutes for all meetings within 24 hours
Provides weekly project status and financial reports to management / stakeholders
Manages project budget via internal tool sets and Financial reports
CLOSE:
Schedules the Closure Document audit, final project review, turnover, project documentation audit, and final project audit meeting and then prepares the Closure Document
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years experience in planning and implementation of overall infrastructure technologies
Strong program and project management skills
Proven experience managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously to successful completion
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess solid basic computer skills
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
Prefer B.S. or B.A. degree
Prefer PMP and/or PMI Methodologies certified or 5 years of experience
Familiarity with or certification in the 120VC Project Manager toolkit
Working knowledge of workflow based applications, like HP PPMC (Project and Portfolio Management Center)
Experience managing project budgets in excess of $2M
Has managed project teams over multiple geographic / international locations
Extremely organized and articulate
Strong analytical problem solving skills
Has completed some formal training in project management
Diplomacy - In the most difficult situations, maintains positive attitude and relationships with tact and efficiency not appearing frustrated or upset
Team Player - Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team of professional and willingness to give assistance to co-workers to achieve departmental goals
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines
