Description

This role requires you to read and understand business requirements, functional requirements, and develop detailed technical designs. Each project will require the Senior Developer to design technical solutions to solve complex business problems. The Senior Developer must be able to drill deep into a component with the expectation to evolve as the subject matter expert on current systems. Perform research and analysis - recommending solutions and driving decisions. Serve as a "point person" for specific technical expertise.  The Senior Developer should be a strong utility type of programmer with the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently between different languages and tasks.  They should also be able to interact effectively with project managers, developers, technical operations, etc.        The ideal candidate will possess:

·         Exceptional system / technical analysis skills

·         Minimum of six years OO analysis and design experience.

·         Minimum four years development experience with Java.

·         Minimum three years working in both Unix/Linux and Wintel environments.

·         Current experience working with app server packages – preferably Web Logic / J2EE / EJB

·         Current experience building web services using SOAP preferably on an Oracle/BEA technology stack 

·         Strong knowledge of the UNIX/Linux Operating system: shells, file systems, symbolic links, process management, etc.

·         Very strong problem solving skills, ability to infer from previous examples, willingness to understand how an application is put together.

·         Excellent communication skills

·         proven design experience in large-scale, enterprise-style financial services applications

  Requirements:

·         Full development lifecycle experience.  Must demonstrate experience delivering systems / projects from inception through implementation.

·         4-5 years technical leadership experience w/ distributed systems, preferably 3 years w/ EJB.

·         J2EE / EJB - preferably WebLogic

·         High level of proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of EJBs (strong server side experience)

·         Experience w/OOAD and an understanding of patterns

·         Experience with SOA to build highly available / scalable enterprise solutions

·         Experience with continuous integration build tools i.e.Hudson

·         Experience creating and maintaining ant build scripts


  Desired Skills:

·         3+ years Oracle database programming experience, including performance tuning.

·         Solid understanding of MQ; JNI; JMS/MQ; Oracle/JDBC a strong plus

·         Experience in Linux/UNIX/Solaris/AIX; Shell programming / PERL a plus

·         Project experience with Web Sphere Application Sevrer

·         Project experience with Web Sphere portal server

·         Experience using Web Sphere Portlet factory as development tool

·         Experience withAJAX, CXF, DOJO, Spring Beans, EclipseLink/TopLink

·         Strong javascript development experience

·         Experience coding in Groovy or similar language
