REQUIRMENT:

 

LEAD Oracle DBA with RAC

Location: Greensboro, NC

Duration: 10+ months

Interview : Phone & Skype

 

Required Skills:

 

Oracle DBA RAC consultant heavy into infrastructure and someone who has worked in a strong production environment Strong communication is a must.

Oracle Certifications preferred. Patching, upgrading, performance tuning, database backups

 

Typical Minimum Experience: 

 Describe: Six or more years working as an Oracle DBA, with at least three years of experience in supporting Oracle RAC.     

 

Typical Minimum Knowledge and Skills

• Team Lead responsibilities

• Installing and configuring Oracle RAC

• Administration of Oracle RAC

• Installing upgrades and patches to Oracle RAC

• Troubleshooting Oracle RAC database performance (AWR/ADDR)

• Understanding database file sizing options and their implications

• Backup and Recovery of databases using RMAN

• Designing a database to recover and roll back data when needed

• Troubleshooting database issues using audit logs

• Writing scripts enabling database process automation, ease of use, etc.

• Understanding Advanced Data Compression technology

• Understanding of Data Guard, Database Vault and Transparent Data Encryption technologies

• Working in a multi-tiered application environment

• Working in an AIX environment

• Setting up and supporting database connection pooling and load balancing among nodes

• Setting up and supporting database clustering

• Setting up and supporting database replication

• Relational modeling

• Understanding and using database monitoring tools

• Understanding and using change management systems

• Willing to work on all platforms and databases used by United Guaranty

• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

• Experienced in mentoring and cross training

• Proficient in time management, planning, and organizational skills

• Excellent oral, written communication skills.

 

Additional Pluses:

o Experience with ETL tools, preferably Data Stage.

o Oracle education coursework or certification

o Exposure to and/or experience with DB2/400 or other version of DB2

o Exposure to and/or experience with SQL Server 2005/2008
