Job Title: Business Analyst II

Duration: 6 Months

Work Location: US-DC-Washington

 

 

Position Description/Responsibilities:

The candidate should posses -
-               7+ years experience in Financial Services IT out of which 3+ years as project lead

         is a plus
-               Excellent understanding of General Ledger, Sub-Ledger, Chart of Accounts and

        accounting principles
-               Experience with loans transactions and its accounting
-               Experienced in collecting user requirements from different stakeholders
-               Experienced in analyzing and documenting Business Process Model
-               Experienced in documenting Use cases and Functional Specs
-               Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation skills.
-               Ability to lead and facilitate discussions in large groups
-               Experienced in managing test execution
-               Experienced in recording, tracking and reporting resolving issues
-               Ability to guide and work with multiple functional and technical teams
-               Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

 

-               Familiarity with financial applications, such as ACBS (Loans system), Investran (Equity system), Back-Office, Private Equity
        Applications, etc
-               Experience with internal controls and IT controls and compliance is a plus
-               Experience with financial COTS implementation is a plus
-               CPA would be preferred

 

Project Background

ACBS Accounting Indicator project is to enhance Loan Accounting System (ACBS and ACBS datamart) to allow accounting of following Loan related investment products-

-        Debt Securities Fair Valued through Other Comprehensive Income

-        Debt Securities Fair Valued

-        Fair Value option Loans

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.             Assess business needs-

·                Gather and document business requirements, functional specs and use cases

·                Assess overall project requirements, business needs, pain points and areas of process improvement

·                Understand and document business process models

·                Conduct business process analysis meetings with business users and document in detail system processes in diagrammatic and textual format

·                Develop and document understanding of the system processes and data flows

·                Perform data analysis

·                Gain an understanding of existing systems’ functionality, compare current/envisioned business processes to system functionality, and document gaps

·                Create as-is and to-be process models and associated information/control flows to represent business processes for the area under analysis

·                Engage System Analysts and system owners to identify and document systems specific requirements

·                Collaborate with QA lead to ensure Testing Strategy covers all Business Requirements

·                Document discussions (meeting minutes) and circulate to the group and obtain sign off to ensure all the participants are on the same page with regards to any issues

 

2.             Conduct prioritization–

·                Formulate well defined user requirements tightly linked to overall project goals to limit scope creep

·                Create implementation approach in logical chunks based on criticality and priority

·                Manage the defined scope and present change request to the users for approvals.

 

3.             Establish conceptual solutions

·                Provide inputs in developing solution architecture and design

·                Assess dependencies, potential issues and risks

 

4.             Work with ACBS consultant

·                Work with ACBS consultant in understanding proposed changes being implemented in ACBS

·                Capture institutional knowledge about ACBS system and the changes being implemented

·                Create more detailed document of the understanding gathered from ACBS consultant

·                Perform impact analysis on other systems due to changes being implemented in ACBS

 

5.             Provide ongoing guidance to development teams

·                Provide clarifications to development team

·                Help Testing team in developing Test Cases

 

6.             Support PM and Project team

·                Assist and provide back-up to project manager

·                Provide inputs for maintaining the project plan and schedule

·                Participate in status meetings and help prepare status reports - highlighting issues and constraints that would impact timely delivery of work program items.

·                Review policies, procedures and practices to determine specifications and requirements for any customization

·                Analyze and document dependencies, if any

·                Help develop UAT test scenarios and UAT test cases with the help of business
