Requirement:

Position : Oracle DBA with SAP (5+ years of experience)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: 3+ months

Interview: Phone

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

•Plan and implement all Oracle software installation, configuration and upgrades

•Perform backup and recovery procedures using RMAN

•Assist in 24x7 administration and support of Oracle 8, 9i, 10g, and 11g databases on various UNIX/Linux platforms IBM AIX preferable.

•Maintain high availability of services

•Perform optimization and performance tuning, with heavy emphasis on developer support and data-warehousing techniques

•Perform logical and physical database design

•Perform database tuning and monitoring

•Assist developers in modeling of database schemas and gaining a working knowledge of the data they support

•Consult with other application groups on database design, query optimization, and security

•Assist with project planning, with a strong emphasis on using project-management methodologies to execute all projects.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Working knowledge of SAP BASIS Administration and processes

• 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience in a production environment

• Demonstrated experience with Oracle releases 10gR2 and 11gR2, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Recovery Manager (RMAN)

• In-depth knowledge of AIX and shell scripting

• Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle server software; performing database tuning and performance monitoring; installing, configuring and maintaining Oracle Enterprise Manager

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
