Required Skills:
1. Core Java Server side development
2. Experience with consuming data from RMDS using Reuters Java version of RFA version 6 or higher.
3. Experience with publishing back to RMDS would be a big bonus (true RFA Subject Matter Expert)
Responsibilities:
Candidate will be a member of our clients development team responsible for implementation of market data feed handler and adapters.
Leveraging internally developed high-performance APIs and data models, develop functionality to allow client application integration in other environments ( BPOD, etc.).
Candidate is viewed as an expert in applications development. Undertakes complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge.
Coordinates with stake holders to refine requirements. Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements complex software applications. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team. Interface with Project Manager on project schedules and costs.
Required Experience:
-Server side C++/Java programming.
-Responsible for all phases of software development including analyses and generation of system and component requirements, schedules, design, implementation, integration, unit and acceptance testing of new and enhanced applications and features.
-Real-time and multi-threaded/multi-process programming in support of mapping services (e.g. via UPA) and support.
-Emphasis on researching, creating and maintaining high-performance, object-oriented, light-weight and highly performant commercial enterprise applications.
-Work with a team of highly skilled software developers in a fast-paced, customer driven environment.
-Experience with real-time application engineering, debugging, performance analysis and tuning. Experience developing and supporting 24 x 7 availability, mission-critical server applications that run in an operations center or client-site deployed.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, can communicate effectively with engineers, operators and non-technical staff.
-Strong problem-solving skills.
-Independent, highly self-motivated individual, able to set and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
-4 years+ professional C++ and/or Java Server-side programming experience including multi-threaded/multi-process C++/Java programming for high-performance real-time transactional applications.
-Minimum of BSE in Computer Science or related experience with multi-threading, multi-
process, STL, TCP/IP, Multicast, UDP.
Technical Skills:
-Strong technical and business communication skills.
-C++, Java, OOD experience.
-Hands-on, working experience of feed handler and/or adapter development in TR/BB environments.
-Strong Linux/UNIX background.
-Service Oriented Architectures.
-High performance caching strategies.
-Data model transformation strategies.
-Sockets, Multithreaded Design.
-Experience in using tools such as SVN, CI, Unit Testing Frameworks.
-Experience in BB and NYSE Wombat API's is preferred.
-Must have RFA / RMDS experience.
