Enterprise Architect

Location: Montgomery, Alabama

Duration: 1 year initially with excellent opportunity for extension/renewal

The Temporary IT Enterprise Architect shall be required to report directly to the client Director and perform project management duties and responsibilities and tasks or duties as assigned in accordance with policy, procedures and best practices and industry accepted standards related to design, development, implementation and maintenance of software and databases, specifically to assist the with the oversight and successful delivery of outstanding/remaining and future documented requirements and deliverables required

This includes:

Provide an enterprise road map demonstrating how the Agency from an Information Technology perspective will accomplish each requirement.
Ensure alignment with, and incorporation of, industry standards
Design and implement a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution for the Agency. Provided Enterprise Architectural governance by creating a long organizational strategy
Assist in developing the overall segment architecture strategy.
Responsible for developing project schedule, deliverables and resource allocation plan to adhere to the policies congruent within client.
Maintain the architectural viewpoints in the designated repository.
Utilize the design tool to develop process models to develop “as-is” and “to-be” views of the records management business processes.
Assist with Designing the Meta-Data platform.
Lead data gathering collection team in an effort to design an enterprise repository system
Design the back-end table structures that enabled quick analysis and reporting.
Integrate and analyze disparate data sources, and data quality improvement.
Utilize SDLC and architectural methodologies and frameworks and their practical application. Including advanced understanding and vision of the complete lifecycle of database, data warehouse and data mart development.
Perform evaluation and implementing data quality metrics on both relational and legacy systems. systems engineering approach, governance approach, test approach, QA and CM approaches
Review and approve the architectural design.
Review and approve the Conceptual Architectural System Design

Fully participate in preliminary logical and physical data modeling sessions
Ensure consistency and traceability between system requirements and system architecture design
Ensure system requirements, the system architecture design, and their relationships are base-lined
Review and approve strategy to ensure a final integrated design
Co-facilitate presentation for committee approval to move to the detail design phase of the project
Validate that the detailed design will support the State’s Vision, does not require duplicate entry, and supports each program
Fully participate in final logical and physical data modeling sessions
Review and approve the final detailed design specifications for forms, templates, alerts, reports and notices
Co-facilitate presentation for committee approval to move to the development phase of the project
Review and approve the Security Design, User Access Security, Quality Assurance Document from an IT perspective
Review and approve Disaster Recovery Plan
Review and approve Data Conversion, Migration and Data Cleanup Plan
Review and approve the Software Development, System Integration and Implementation Plans

Review and approve the Detailed System Design

Providing consultation to Agency IT management regarding supporting applications and systems (such as performance monitoring tools, back-up systems, and interface tools).
Documenting and tracking risks and issues.
Actively engaging and focusing contractors and client staff on project tasks
Identifying resources needed to accomplish project tasks,
Project coordination activities between State and Contractor(s) staff.
Coordinating the approval of project deliverables,
Project reporting and management duties as assigned or needed.
