Job Summary:
SQL Database Administrator is responsible for providing technical support for Amalga database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company.

Essential Functions: Performs security administration functions regarding user accounts and passwords. Work in coordination with developers to conceptualize and create complex database systems, modifications, and monitor performance. Develop and maintain various database maintenance plans to achieve and maintain high levels of performance and proper backups of the database environments. Provide and coordinate data reorganizations, conversions, and trouble-shooting of data problems. Develop procedures for reviewing, logging and implementing access rights for files, databases and physical devices. Create, modify, and maintain database security environments, advice management and developers on various aspects of security measures and changes. Participate in the development, review, testing and implementation of disaster recovery/integrity plans. Develops a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.

Provides leadership during the development and enhancement of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications. Work with the Development team to understand Data source structure and develop both the physical and the logical database administration functions and assists in the development of Enterprise Data Warehouse applications.
Additional Responsibilities: Actively participates in weekly build and release process along with development and Production Support team.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 5 + years of hands on experience in managing enterprise wide SQL Server Databases. At least 3 years of hands on experience managing SQL Server 2008 R2 enterprise Database. 3+ years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques 2-3 years experience maintaining Production level environment and working with Production Support and Level 2 Support teams. Good understanding of Healthcare ecosystem and Clinical Data. Also has fair understanding of HIPAA and HL7 standards Expertise in the following:
o Fair understanding of Healthcare Clinical Data Management.
o Administrator of SQL Server 2008 R2
o Data Modeling experience for Data Warehouse/Data Marts
o SQL programming skills
o Database tuning
o Database Management backups, replication
o Disaster recovery
All Applicants must also have: Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills. Comprehensive knowledge of database applications. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Technical documentation skills Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to Amalga Unified System. Professional experience with structured design techniques, writing DTS and SSIS packages, implementation of database and application security methodology, database and application change control and management, and data modeling. Certification from Microsoft on current versions of SQL Server. Hands-on experience on SSAS, developing Data Mart and Cubes, managing Cubes Hands-on experience on BI reporting using SSRS and performance point. Good experience on Sharepoint 2010 administration configuration.
Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Risk Management: Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.

Minimum Position Qualifications: Education: BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
Experience: Five or more years of DBA Experience Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
Training:
Preferably trained on MS BI Suites like SSRS, SSAS, SSIS development and environment management License / Certification:
Certified SQL Server DBA
