Senior Business Objects Developer

Clientin Northern NJ is seeking a Senior Business Objects Developer with 10-12 years of IT industry experience and around 6 years in developing universes and reports using Business Objects tools. You should be a seasoned BO developer with experience in many successful reporting implementations preferably in pharmaceutical industry. Individual should have strong business and functional knowledge.
Day in the Life:
Business Objects lead developer using Business Objects XI 3.1 – Web Intelligence, Designer
Analyze, design and develop BO universes and reports
Perform impact analysis and validation of existing production reports after application and database upgrade
Understand reporting database schema/model, identify joins/tables, perform data analysis.
Create, maintain and update technical requirements document, design document, mapping document, Issues Log, UT Scripts
Implement and recommend industry BI standards and best practices
Work as a one-man team and perform all development activities independently
Proactively identifies problems/issues/risks and provide solutions
Architect and develop reports using Business Objects. Champions and promotes the proposed toolset to the internal community.
Work closely with the different business groups specifically Clinical group to cater to their reporting needs.
Facilitate clients, both internal and external in defining report requirements.
Designs and documents BO & DW requirements by preparing diagrams, logic charts and programming specifications as required.
Participates in problem resolution tasks and documents approach for support when applicable.
Lead and /or participation in analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support of "Small to Large" project efforts for dashboards, reports, integration.
Analyze and proactively monitor current reporting/BI environment recommending and implementing improvements
Architect, develop configuration or improvements to configuration of BO environment
Provide status updates on regular basis and be committed to aggressive delivery timelines
What You Bring to the Team:
• 6+ years of Business Objects XI 3.1 WebI report development
6+ years of VERY strong Business Objects XI 3.1 universe development
6+ years of strong database skills – Oracle 10g/11g highly preferred
Experience in Business Objects administration
Proven analytical and problem solving skills for assessment of complex production support issues and ability to recommend/implement quick and effective solutions
Strong in writing complex SQL code, functions, stored procedures and ability to perform data validation and analysis
Performance tuning/analysis/optimization of reports and SQL
Experience with versioning and migration tools such as NOAD EQM (Enterprise Quality Manager) for BO reports and universe migration
Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry and exposure to applications such as Siebel CTMS, Oracle EBS and PEGA is a big plus
Other software desired include, Visio, TOAD, SQL Navigator, Erwin, MS Project
Previous experience in using Change Management and IT Ticketing tools for managing incidents and issues resolution is a plus
Must have excellent communication and writing skills
Ability to work independently on projects with aggressive timelines and communicate status to project team on a regular basis
