Thisresource will be working as part of a team and will be reporting to a seniordeveloper in the Iowa Department of Economic Development. 

TheSoftware Developer/Programmer (SDP) converts data from project specificationsand statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computerprograms:

Prepares,or receives from systems analyst detailed workflow chart and diagram toillustrate sequence of steps that program must follow and to describe input,output, and logical operations involved.

Analyzesworkflow chart and diagram, applying knowledge of computer capabilities,subject matter, and symbolic logic.

Conferswith supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program toresolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, andinclusion of internal checks and controls.

1 to3 years of experience, relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines toperform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision.  Primary job functions do not typicallyrequire exercising independent judgment, typically reports to a project leaderor manager
