Requirement :

Netbackup Administrator who will be responsible for supporting, managing, advanced trouble shooting, and implementing all backup and restore infrastructures for disaster recovery. This includes direct attached storage components, backup appliances, tape libraries and other associated backup and storage equipment. The Backup Admin will perform daily systems management and tuning, including maintenance and trend analysis of the Backups infrastructures. Ensure knowledge database is populated with resolutions, workarounds and known issues. Monitor system backups and re-run as necessary and process restore requests. Review system logs to identify signs of potential problems. Repair or replace system hardware when necessary. Responsible for keeping documentation of the backup infrastructure up to date and maintaining an accurate hardware and software inventory. Provide metrics to management for use in trending. Perform database maintenance of backup software. Work with other IT groups and the business to make sure all backups are performed in accordance with business policies and the law. Place hardware service calls and schedule regular maintenance on backup hardware. Candidate must be able to ensure stable implementation and support of enterprise servers, backup disk based appliances, and tape libraries that are part of the environment. Must be able to administer Windows, Linux, Unix, VMware, and backup devices/components. Must have hands on engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting experience with Symantec NetBackup version 6.5 to 7.5. Must also have technical experience on a Unix/Linux platform; as well as VMware design and support pertaining to backup and storage.
