| Configure all aspects of the backup infrastructure including secondary storage frames, switches and disk/tape topologies as directed in various configurations using knowledge of backup concepts as they relate to large enterprise multi PB environments that employ TSM Responsible for backup and recovery methodologies and application of these methodologies including retention, reclamation, and disaster recovery Report on performance and capacities and make allocation recommendations based on trending Comprehensive knowledge of the AIX operating system including the ability to write and troubleshoot shell scripts Knowledge of IBM 3584 tape technologies and Sepaton VTL Provisioning and allocating SAN, troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues, software upgrades to the SAN and Fabric environments as well as SAN attached servers. Configure and administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components; including Fibre Channel switch administration Configure and deploy storage allocation across servers from different platforms (i.e. UNIX, and Linux) Troubleshoot and fix storage issues Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance Assist with storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components |
