Position: Data Warehouse Team Lead

Location: Washington DC

Duration: Contract

 

Job Title:   – Data Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of application development projects with specific emphasis on project involving DB2, Ab Initio, and Cognos.  All projects are in the healthcare and insurance related business subject areas.  The DW Team Lead will therefore be responsible for the overall coordination, reporting, and integration of multiple technical teams within the scope of an IT application environment. 

 

Project leadership experience is required with strong familiarity of business process and technical tools.  Plans and directs highly technical projects, involving all aspects of information resources management with emphasis on software development.  Directs the completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints.  Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates.  Develops and implements standard process management methodologies for the IT and Business community to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, meet customer expectations and add value.  Mentors and trains less senior Leads.  Institutionalizes standardized processes and procedures and helps other IT staff members and business customers to understand the benefits of using Association-wide standards.  Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

 

  • Prepare the appropriate documentation and obtain approval for project initiation based on the established Project Management project governance processes.

 

  • Direct and maintain the project tracking reporting.

 

  • Develop, maintain, review, and evaluate project plans, task orders, requirements documents and risk registers for completeness and accuracy.

 

  • Participate in recurring project updates discussions with Business Lead(s) and Business Sponsor.

 

  • Escalate any project issues, risks, or concerns to the appropriate governance group.

 

  • Coordinate with internal IT resources to provide administrative support to include assistance with meeting scheduling, distribution of meeting agendas, and development of project plans.

 

  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes to document decision points and action items.

 

  • Oversee monthly project updates for all internal/external reporting to include: needed Senior Staff Updates, Traffic Light Reporting, and the Informatics Steering Committee on progress relative to schedule, budget, scope, and dependencies as defined in the project plan.
