Job Duties & Responsibilities

           

The Client Linux Team is seeking a highly motivated Linux Administrator to build servers for new and lease replacements, support existing Linux infrastructure, virtualization and patching.  The successful candidate will have experience delivering solutions in a collaborative environment under aggressive deadlines.

 

Candidate Qualifications

-At least 5 years of experience working with Linux OS (SLES, RHEL) patches, tuning and scripting.

-Proven experience in end-to-end problem determination/troubleshooting system issues.

-Good understanding of software versioning

-Proven skills in managing OS server software inventory

-Ideal candidate must be willing to support production systems 24 x 7 on a rotational basis.

-Understanding of Microsoft System Center or equivalent.

-Thorough understanding of networks and storage systems.

-Work in a team oriented environment and ability to communicate effectively within teams.

-Share new ideas with the team and be able to think and recommend solutions.

-Must have strong work ethics and professional demeanor.

-High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment to quality.

-Organizational skills and ability to multi-task prioritize and meet deadlines.

-Demonstrated ability to manage day to day execution of solution definition and maintenance with moderate to minimal support of lead. Ability to escalate and resolve issues when appropriate.

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - including verbal, written, and presentation. Ability to tailor communication to audience.

-Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, within and across organizational and project boundaries.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Must have:

-Working knowledge of VMWare, ESx software.

-Working knowledge of HP G8 C-Class blades.

 

Desired Qualifications:

-Microsoft Operation Framework (MOF) V4.0 and/or ITIL V3 Foundation certification.

-Knowledge of Internet architecture/infrastructure support activities and Mobile Systems will be a plus.

-Knowledge of SUSE Manager and or Red Hat Satellite

knowledge of HP Server Automation

-Knowledge of Puppet Software.
