Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 2+ Months

Skill and Role Summary:

By the end of the year, have new search functionality operational that measurably improves the current experience:

Take advantage of SOLR features

Improve findability of product info

We will design the user experience in two waves;

Wave 1 design will focus on features and functions that are high-value to the user, yet require low-complexity business process changes, and are least dependent on technology and data quality

Wave 2 will incorporate additional user-centric features and functions that require longer-term organizational change, and rely on continued data quality improvements

Main duties and responsibilities:

The contractor will work with the client and the creative team to design a solution that will help improve the search functions on the current Sonepar web site. This person will be responsible for the creation of detailed requirements that will aid in the development of search solutions.

Requirements:

The contractor should have client facing skills and experience working on web development projects as part of a cross-discipline team. This person should have experience in writing high level, detailed and functional requirement documentation.

Please make sure they emphasize business rule definition and documentation. Also, any experience with search (solr, Endeca) would be a plus.
