Targeted Skills & Competencies:
This position requires an IT professional with at least 5 years of experience in the IT industry. Candidates must have a strong background in UNIX and related technologies. Candidates should also have experience in scripting and log analysis.
Expected Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities (Role): • Administer Splunk infrastructure • Interact with internal customers of the Splunk infrastructure providing support and guidance • Build custom reports and queries • Integrate diverse technologies (server, storage, network, application, and other log analysis tools) with the Splunk infrastructure • Develop partnerships with engineering, operations, and application development groups. • Report on progress to technical lead, project manager and technology management.

Suggested Experience & Qualifications:
Work Experience (Required): • 4+ years experience of UNIX administration • 1+ years experience of administering Splunk or other similar log aggregation software • 2+ years experience in a scripting or querying language (e.g. shell, perl, sql) Working Knowledge (Nice to Have): • VMware virtualization • Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework/related products) • LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols (e.g. routers, switches, TCP/IP) • SAN/NAS technologies (preferably Hitachi, NetApp) • Database technologies (e.g. Oracle) • Windows Server • UNIX high availability (Veritas clustering) General skills (Required): • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to produce technical documentation • Ability to work on a team or independently in a fast paced dynamic environment • Willing to write detailed documentation and adhere to corporate standards/change management policies • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required • Professional certifications (e.g. RHEL) are a plus.
